Hey there, I'm Mara! I'm a social worker turned fitness coach. Essentially, I combine my background as a licensed social worker, trauma-informed practitioner, and certified personal trainer into one holistic approach. My mission is to help women connect with and feel confident in their bodies, which are all unique and capable of amazing things! It’s not just about getting stronger physically, but feeling capable, confident, and strong in body, mind, and heart!
Fitness is not only for bodybuilders and athletes, it’s for everyone. Because every woman is uniquely different, the way fitness weaves into her life will be just as unique. Whatever your chosen form of exercise, it should feel motivating, energizing, and fun.
Fitness is also a science. Leaning on my background in both mental health and fitness, I help you tune in to your body’s rhythms, set goals that feel authentic to you, and move in ways that support—not override—your nervous system.
Whether we’re building your first half-marathon training plan, returning to movement after a break, or working through emotional blocks around exercise, you’ll be met with expert guidance and wholehearted support. Progress is personal, setbacks are human, and your well-being always comes first.​​​​

Movement has always been a big part of my life—especially when it happens outside. I’m based in Arizona, where the desert trails are my happy place, and trail running is my greatest love. When I’m not running, I’m either on my bicycle, Dusty Carnation, (on which I've traveled through 20 countries so far), reading, adventuring, or spending time with good friends. For me, fitness is about connection, curiosity, and having fun along the way.
Before becoming a coach/personal trainer, I worked as a gender and human rights expert, and as a therapist specializing in somatic therapy, helping people understand the powerful connection between mental and physical health. That background shapes how I coach today.
I care just as much about how you feel in your body as how strong or fast you become. Injury prevention, mobility, and recovery are central to my work because I know firsthand how deeply injuries can affect both confidence and mental well-being.
I’m especially passionate about working with women—helping you connect with your body, build confidence, and discover what you’re truly capable of. Helping people find joy in movement is what lights me up, and I feel incredibly grateful to support you on the adventure!

By the way, I eat plants (vegetarian), but I work with every kind of diet. Having a certification in nutrition coaching, I know how to get plenty of protein, vitamins, and nutrients with or without meat. Let's eat!
